~Beautiful Eyes~ by Cayler

"It sure is the right way to go."

date: September 27, 2008

As compared to your other, older compositions on Ng, i think this is a good way for you to go, where the old ones at a lot of points the backing for the lyrics kind of drowned out the singing and as a general whole and in my opinion didn't fit the lyrics, this one however, isn't overshadowed by the music, because it stays nicely in the background. The singing too is nice, because you've got a good set of lyrics there and what's more important, you didn't strain your voice and stayed well within what seems to be your "comfort zone" as you've done in the past. If this came up on Itunes i would certainly buy it, if i had a credit card.

Good luck.

Author's Response:

Wow, you'd really buy it? Thankyou!! :D That means it's a success. lol Yeah, most of my older ones have problems in way too many areas, and I think this one sounds so much better just as a result of me having gained experience from the older ones. I plan to remake them so they fit together better. I should hurry up and get my songs on iTunes. I'm having some trouble figuring out how right now though. ^_^; Thnks for the great review :)

"Good, but some issues."

date: June 16, 2008

i personally found it a bit slow overall until halfway, when it gets to that point you think it's another bit of music, the "choirlike" (not sure what to call them) drowned a lot out and made it seem too much like a trance track, when it speeds up you think it's going to keep that speed for the rest of the track, but it slows down into the same sort of, mush before.

All in all i think it's pretty good, but a little slow to start, then it doesn't go anywhere.

"lyrics would make it excellent"

date: December 14, 2007

i love this, but it feels half finished, it may be due to me listening to it with lyrics for an unashamed amount of time, i do like it, it can fit in many places, and i personally will try to play it as much as possibly around the house, because it has an epic feeling to it with the violin thing in there, and i like the use of the, i think it's a Clavischord or a synthesiser or a synthesiser with a clavischord thing in it.

Author's Response:

I tried it with lyrics - trust me - the intensity of the orchestration drowns them out. And I like its intensity so I am not willing to tone that down so you can hear the vocals.

thanks for the review!

while this sounds nothing like bagpipes, you Have caught the general spirit of bagpipes, it does get a little tedious in parts, and it sounds a bit polyphonic, but i live in edinburgh and could listen to countless pipers everyday, i think i'm a bit spoiled on that front, bagpipes up close are damn loud and anything but relaxing( most pipers go deaf after 5-6 years) another thing though, it should be "Bag Pipes" instead of "bag pipe" but thats a minor grup

you could really expand on this and come up with a proper full on heavy metal record, there is a lot of potential here.
